Text Box: Overview The intent of this course is to provide an introduction to the BRC Global Standard for Food Safety to those who are new to the certification process or do have any previous experience with the standard. The one-day course provides a solid background to the requirements of the standard to get you moving in the right direction in the certification process. During the class, you will be introduced to the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), its relationship to the BRC Global Standard and the positive impacts it can have on your organization. This course also builds a strong foundation for the ‘How to Interpret the BRC Global Standard’ course for those who require more in-depth knowledge of the Global Standard. Who should attend Facility supervisors and managers who are not directly responsible for implementation of the standard Delegates interested in gaining a general understanding of the BRC and its benefits Prerequisites None. This course is designed for those who have no previous experience or knowledge of the BRC Global Standard for Food Safety.

BRC Standard 6 Courses Offered

Text Box: Overview This course is designed for students who wish to gain in-depth understanding of how certification bodies work and how they relate to the BRC in the process towards certification. The instructor will focus on the Standard’s requirement clauses and the interpretation of those clauses in order to demonstrate compliance. You will become familiar with the scope and structure of the Standard, how audit reports are written and how to deal with any non-conformities discovered during the audit. This course is a combination of tutor-led instruction and interactive workshops to apply the knowledge learned during the 2-day course. A written examination is given at the conclusion of the class and students will receive a certificate of attendance. Who should attend QA, Food Safety and other Technical Managers Technical Production support staff Other facility managers and supervisors responsible for the implementation of the Standard Consultants Certification Body personnel Prerequisites Familiarity of the fundamental concepts and working knowledge of a Quality Management System is expected. Students should also be competent in the principles of HACCP and have good technical knowledge of the industry.

Text Box: Overview This course is geared towards QA and other personnel who will be responsible for managing the internal audit program and undertaking internal audits for their organization. The students will have the opportunity to develop their auditing skills and learn how to write audit reports through the interactive case-study workshops that are delivered during this 2-day course. Students will be given feedback on they can further improve their overall auditing skills. A written examination is given at the conclusion of this class and students will receive a certificate of attendance. At the conclusion of the course, students will have a full understanding of how to conduct internal audits within the organization by focusing on the BRC audit concepts and be better equipped to prepare for future third-party audits. Who should attend QA, Food Safety and other Technical Managers Personnel tasked with managing the internal audit schedule. Personnel tasked with the responsibility for conducting internal audits as requirement by the Standard Consultants Prerequisites A solid understanding of Quality Management Systems. Familiarity of the BRC Global Standard is strongly suggested.

The instructor will lead discussions on the aims and objectives of the BRC audit while focusing on further developing your audit skills and techniques through interactive workshops on various case studies and role-play exercises. This course covers all relevant aspects of auditing within the food sector. You will gain an in-depth and practical understanding of the BRC audit requirements and learn how to manage an audit and consistently write audit reports. An examination is given at the conclusion of the class, and students who successfully pass the exam are issued with a BRC Third Party Audit Certificate with a unique reference number. Who should attend QA, Food Safety and other Technical Managers Certification Body Auditors Consultants Prerequisites Students interested in attending this course should have a working knowledge of HACCP and of Quality Management Systems. They should also be familiar with the requirements of the BRC Global Standard.
